I finally got the lighted pistons to work. Turns out I had the channel set wrong on the Hauptwerk output. I found this out by putting a separate computer with a different MIDI interface in line with the MIDI loop of the instrument and monitoring the MIDI messages. Using MIDI-OX (www.midiox.com) I found the error. Finding it was indirect, as I couldn't figure out how to get the NPRN messages to display. I know there is a way using MIDI Status, but couldn't figure it out.
The last thing left is the display. Hauptwerk sends out SysEx messages when you send the test for LCD. The odd thing is that I can't see any difference in the SysEx message when sending to different LCDs. For example, from MIDI OX, the SysEx for LCD 001 is
